Investor Status

Not currently fundraising. Open to the right investor.

SocratesOne is currently bootstrapped and pre-revenue. I have not raised seed or institutional capital, and the current development roadmap does not depend on outside investment to continue.

That is intentional.

I am building a portfolio of software, research, infrastructure, and intellectual property around artificial intelligence, agentic systems, automation, provenance, evaluation, knowledge graphs, and human–AI workflows.

I am not looking for capital simply because capital is available.

I am open to conversations with investors who see unusual value in a particular project, technology, or broader direction—and who believe they can materially improve the probability of turning that work into a durable business.

Current Status

Stage
Pre-revenue / early product development
Funding
Bootstrapped; no seed or institutional funding to date
Runway
Sufficient to continue current development without outside financing
Fundraising
No active round currently underway
Investor conversations
Open

There is therefore no artificial fundraising deadline and no requirement to complete a financing transaction.

A sufficiently compelling partnership could change the rate at which the work develops, but not whether the work continues.

What Is Being Built

The current portfolio includes several related but independently valuable systems.

EvidEngine

A provenance and evidence infrastructure project focused on making AI-assisted reasoning more inspectable, reproducible, and auditable.

Whetstone

An experimental optimization and evaluation system for improving agent harnesses through structured telemetry, evaluation, and iterative refinement.

Agent Foundry Lab

Infrastructure and experimentation around building, testing, comparing, and operationalizing agentic systems.

Momentum Engine

An AI-assisted marketing and operational system designed around structured workflows, human approval, and persistent organizational context.

Automated Job Application System

An attempt to redesign parts of the recruiting and job-search process around better matching, lower noise, stronger provenance, and more useful automation rather than simply increasing application volume.

These projects are at different levels of maturity. Some may become independent products. Some may become infrastructure underlying other products. Some may change substantially or be abandoned as the technology and market evolve.

That uncertainty is part of the investment thesis—and part of the risk.

The Broader Thesis

The opportunity I am pursuing is larger than any individual application.

As increasingly capable AI systems move from answering questions toward performing sustained work, a new engineering layer is emerging around them:

  • orchestration
  • context and memory
  • evaluation
  • provenance
  • tool selection
  • human oversight
  • reliability
  • observability
  • optimization
  • economic efficiency

My work is concentrated in that layer.

Rather than betting exclusively on one model provider or one narrow application, I am developing systems and engineering patterns intended to remain useful as the underlying models change.

That thesis may prove correct.

It may also prove wrong.

The field is moving unusually quickly, technical advantages can disappear rapidly, incumbents can absorb entire product categories, and today's promising architecture can become obsolete surprisingly fast.

Anyone considering investing should assume substantial technical, market, execution, and competitive risk.

Why Consider Outside Capital?

Capital would be an accelerator rather than a prerequisite.

Depending on the project and the investor, additional resources could potentially accelerate:

  • productization of existing research and prototypes
  • engineering and infrastructure development
  • specialized technical hiring
  • compute and experimentation
  • customer discovery and go-to-market validation
  • intellectual-property and legal work
  • commercialization of projects showing meaningful demand

I am more interested in increasing the probability of building something important than in maximizing the amount of capital raised.

That means the source of capital matters.

The Investors I Want to Meet

A productive investor relationship would likely involve someone who:

  • understands the unusually high uncertainty surrounding artificial intelligence and agentic software
  • is comfortable investing before traditional revenue metrics provide much certainty
  • can distinguish technical experimentation from product-market validation
  • understands infrastructure, developer tools, enterprise software, or AI-native businesses
  • brings relevant customers, operators, researchers, talent, distribution, or strategic relationships
  • is willing to challenge assumptions rather than simply finance them
  • thinks in years rather than quarters

I am considerably less interested in passive capital with aggressive growth expectations attached to it.

The right investor should improve the company, not merely capitalize it.

What an Investment Would Mean

There is currently no standardized investment offer published through this site.

Interest in a particular project should also not be interpreted as automatically conferring ownership of that project's technology or of the broader SocratesOne portfolio.

Any financing would require an explicit agreement defining:

  • the entity receiving the investment
  • the investment instrument
  • ownership and economic rights
  • intellectual-property rights
  • governance rights
  • investor protections
  • use of proceeds
  • any project-specific arrangements

Those terms would depend on the circumstances and would be negotiated independently.

Risk Disclosure

This is an early-stage technology effort.

There is currently no assurance that any individual project will achieve product-market fit, generate revenue, obtain follow-on financing, or produce a financial return.

Artificial intelligence and agentic engineering are evolving rapidly. Changes in model capabilities, costs, regulation, competition, platform policies, or underlying technology could materially increase or destroy the commercial value of work currently in development.

A prospective investor should be prepared for the possibility of losing the entire amount invested.

That is not boilerplate intended to satisfy a checkbox. It is an accurate description of the risk.

Interested Anyway?

Then I would like to know what caught your attention.

I am particularly interested in hearing which project or technical thesis you believe has investment potential and why.

Investor Inquiry

Sent — thank you. I read these myself and reply to the real ones, usually within a day or two.

What are you interested in? (required)
What kind of involvement are you considering?

Optional, but useful.

This page describes the current status of SocratesOne and provides a channel for prospective investors and strategic partners to make contact. No securities are being offered for purchase through this page. Any potential financing would be discussed separately and would be subject to appropriate diligence, legal review, documentation, and agreement between the relevant parties.
